Boxpark: Unboxed is directly focused on the events occurring in the several entertainment complexes called Boxpark. The project focuses particularly on Camden and Wembley complexes, however Boxpark also goes beyond this with several other locations. The reasoning behind the selection of these events, such as a local quiz night, and the watch-along events based around sports, were chosen due to the group’s interest in the impact of Boxpark complexes towards the community in the local area. On the surface, it appears that the organisation of live events can truly bring a community together, and a large-scale complex such as Boxpark (where the largest venues have a capacity of 2,000) can become a central core to the local community by providing a ‘third space’ for locals, but also attendees from the national scale, attracting them to engage with the local community, whether this would be enjoying the event itself, or the local street food. Furthermore, the Boxpark concept itself is unique – the entire structure of the locale is made up of shipping containers, and hence through its structure, is a unique experience which certainly deserves greater recognition.
